Stephen Lerner: Create a Crisis for the Super-rich

On September 10, labor activist Stephen Lerner. along with Robert Reich and John Powell, addressed  500 community, labor, immigrant and social justice activists in Minneapolis at the Summit for a Fair Economy.

Lerner is credited with being the creator of SEIU‘s Justice for Janitors campaign. Currently he serves on the SEIU executive board and is an adviser to SEIU President Mary Kay Henry.

Here is the “Cliff Notes” version of Lerner’s speech in which he argues that history has shown that the only way you can get corporations to change their behavior is to create a crisis for them.

And the long version.
