Video contest on failure of US Labor Laws

Communication Workers of America and Jobs with Justice are sponsoring a contest for progressive — and creative — student activists with a flair for producing short videos. Submit a 1 to 3 minute “YouTube style” video that highlights the failure of U.S. labor laws to protect workers who seek to unionize—and why America needs the Employee Free Choice Act.

Up to 10 contest finalists will be selected. Each finalist (either individuals or campus groups) will receive $500 contribution toward their campus action programs. Later, three top award winners will be determined through online voting by students and workers and will receive additional prizes.
The videos will be widely distributed through an online public outreach campaign and posted on a special WA website. The purpose is to educate the public about workers’ rights abuses and enlist support in building a political movement to pass the Employee Free Choice Act.
